MINE PLANNING BASICS FRIDAY – MINING LOSS AND DILUTION!!

Found this incredibly interesting and relevant article by Anoush Ebrahim from SRK Consulting where he explains the importance of dilution factors for open pit mining projects, especially in terms of the economy of these projects. In the article he explains that it is common to make general assumptions about dilution instead of quantifying it. I'd like to hear from you guys if you are simply assuming your Loss & Dilution, or have you actually been able to quantify it, and able to maintain these factors on an annual basis...
