MINE PLANNING BASICS FRIDAY – DRILLING IN MEDIUM/LONG TERM SCHEDULES!!

As we know it is difficult enough to figure out the mining sequence of the shovels in a medium to long term mining schedule. It seems there are mining companies that request their mining engineers to figure out the drill paths as well, meaning you have to figure out the sequence for the drills and then the shovels as well. To include the drilling sequence does have it's advantages, but there are disadvantages as well in terms of the time it takes to generate a schedule. That is now assuming your software can even do this. Do the Pro's far outweigh the Cons? Please share your thoughts...
